Jesus accepts us as we are! We should accept others in the same way.
Romans 15:7 (TPT)
You will bring God glory when you accept and welcome one another as partners, just as the Anointed One has fully accepted you and received you as his partner.
Often we don’t think about accepting our friends, family or our partners after we have gotten to know them however this is exactly what the Lord is wanting us to do. Our friends, family and partners have imperfections just like us and it may be difficult to accept their flaws.
This is what Christ did for us, He accepted us as we were with imperfections. Christ came to seek out and to give life to those who are lost (Luke 19:9-10). Christ didn’t come to save the righteous, He came to save the sinner whose life isn’t all together with imperfections. God demonstrated His unconditional acceptance through His Son when He looked beyond my faults to see my needs.
Luke 19:9-10 (TPT)
Jesus said to him, “This shows that today life has come to you and your household, for you are a true son of Abraham. The Son of Man has come to seek out and to give life to those who are lost.”
This acceptance is needed in all of our relationships. Accepting my spouse, my friends and my family is all rooted in love from our Heavenly Father through the Son. Acceptance isn’t always easy or convenient however it is a choice. This means looking beyond differences, disagreements, disputes, irritations and personality flaws. It also means looking beyond wrongdoing and sins committed and to see what the Lord sees in them. To love and accept them regardless in Jesus name.
