5787: The Open Horizon — A Prophetic Word for the Remainder of 2026

Return, Press Through, The Shifting, Remain, Restoration & Begin Again
Featuring Pastor Timothy Tomlinson and special guest Taylor Crain
Have you ever found yourself in a season where everything seems to be changing, but you're not exactly sure what God is doing?
Maybe you've been praying about something for months.
Maybe you've been waiting for a breakthrough that hasn't happened yet.
Perhaps you've experienced disappointment, a closed door, or an unexpected change in your family, finances, ministry, or relationships.
And now you're asking yourself:
"Lord, what are You doing in my life right now?"
I want to share something with you that I believe is important as we move through the remainder of 2026 and into the Hebrew year 5787.
On October 3, 2026, I hosted a special live prophetic event called 5787: The Open Horizon, along with my special guest, Taylor Crain.
During this event, we explored what I believe the Lord has been highlighting through Scripture, the prophets, prayer, and the Holy Spirit.
We also had an opportunity to minister to volunteers through prayer, dream interpretation, and Christian inner healing.
And I have to tell you, there was a common message running through the entire event.
God is calling His people back to Himself, preparing us to walk through change, and teaching us how to remain faithful while He works in our lives.
I want to walk you through that message, share some of what happened during the live ministry, and give you an opportunity to watch the complete replay.
Watch the Replay: 5787 — The Open Horizon
Our live event included biblical teaching, prophetic encouragement, dream interpretation with Taylor Crain, and live prayer ministry with volunteers.
If you couldn't attend, I encourage you to watch the replay when you have some quiet time.
You don't have to watch everything in one sitting.
You can return to the portions that speak to what you're experiencing in your own Christian walk.
Now, let me share the central message that I believe the Lord placed on my heart.
1. RETURN — God Is Calling His People Back to Himself

As I've been praying about this season, the Lord keeps bringing me back to the prophets.
Isaiah. Jeremiah. Ezekiel. Hosea. Joel. Zechariah.
And as I've been reading through these books, something continues standing out.
Different prophets, different generations, different circumstances, but a very similar message.
Return to the Lord.
Zechariah 1:3 tells us:
"Return to Me, and I will return to you."
And Joel 2:12 calls God's people to return to Him with all their hearts.
I believe that's where we need to begin.
Before we're asking God to open another door, bring another breakthrough, or change our circumstances, perhaps we need to ask a different question.
"Jesus, what are You calling me back to?"
Maybe it's prayer.
Maybe it's spending time in His Word.
Maybe it's worship.
Maybe it's something He placed on your heart years ago that you stopped pursuing.
Or perhaps you've been so busy trying to figure everything out that you've forgotten how simple our relationship with Jesus is supposed to be.
During the live event, I shared something that I think is worth repeating.
Sometimes Christians feel like God is upset with them because they haven't prayed enough, read enough Scripture, or done enough ministry.
And suddenly their relationship with Jesus becomes another list of things they have to accomplish.
But Jesus isn't asking us to perform our way into His presence.
He's calling us into relationship.
You can simply stop what you're doing and say:
"Jesus, I'm here. Thank You for being with me. Help me hear Your voice again."
You don't need a special building or a complicated prayer to turn your attention back to Him.
You need a willing heart.
And maybe that's where your next season begins.
2. PRESS THROUGH — Don't Quit Just Because It Got Difficult

Now, here's something else I want you to understand.
Returning to God doesn't mean everything suddenly becomes easy.
Sometimes it's just the opposite.
You make a decision to pursue something the Lord has placed on your heart.
You begin praying.
You start moving forward.
And then something happens.
An obstacle appears.
A door closes.
Something doesn't work out the way you expected.
And suddenly you're asking:
"Did I hear God wrong?"
I think we've all been there at one time or another.
I shared during the event how even preparing for the live broadcast involved hours of technical difficulties.
One thing after another seemed to go wrong.
And there were moments when I wanted to throw my hands up and say, "That's enough!"
But sometimes you simply have to press through.
Now, I want to be careful here.
Just because something is difficult doesn't automatically mean God is telling you to continue.
We still need to pray.
We need to listen.
We need to discern.
And sometimes the Lord may be telling us to change direction.
But there are also times when the instruction hasn't changed.
The circumstances have simply become difficult.
Paul encourages believers in Galatians 6:9 not to grow weary in doing good.
And Ephesians 6:13 reminds us to stand firm.
Think about the persistent widow in Luke 18.
She continued coming before the judge, seeking justice.
Or think about the friend at midnight in Luke 11.
Jesus used these examples to teach us something about persistence in prayer.
Not every answer comes immediately.
Sometimes we have to keep asking, keep seeking, and keep knocking.
So let me ask you something.
Have you stopped pursuing something because it became difficult, or has the Lord actually told you to stop?
Those are two very different things.
Maybe you need to pray again.
Maybe you need to wait.
Maybe you need to take another step.
Or maybe God is simply saying:
"Stand."
Don't confuse resistance with defeat.
3. THE SHIFTING — When Everything Around You Begins to Change

I believe many people are experiencing tremendous changes in their lives right now.
And sometimes those changes can leave us feeling uncomfortable.
Maybe you've moved to a different city.
Maybe your job has changed.
Perhaps your ministry is moving in a different direction.
Maybe your finances aren't what they used to be.
Or perhaps a relationship you thought would always be there has changed.
During the live event, I shared a little about my own experience.
After living in Portland, Oregon, for years, my wife Sarah and I relocated to Mesa, Arizona.
We had been living aboard our sailboat, and now we're beginning another chapter of our lives in a completely different environment.
Part of that move was about being closer to my mother and spending more time with her.
And while I'm thankful for that opportunity, I can tell you that changing your entire routine isn't always comfortable.
I had my office.
I had my familiar surroundings.
I had my way of doing things.
And suddenly everything was different.
Maybe you can relate to that.
Sometimes we're so comfortable with what we've known that we have a hard time recognizing what God may be doing next.
But here's the question I want you to consider:
"What am I standing on when everything around me begins to shift?"
Jesus taught in Matthew 7:24–27 about building our house upon the rock.
The rain came.
The winds blew.
The floods rose.
But the house remained standing because its foundation was secure.
Notice something important.
Jesus didn't say the storms wouldn't come.
He taught us the importance of having the right foundation when they do.
And that's what I believe we need to remember in this season.
Our security cannot depend entirely upon our circumstances remaining the same.
Our foundation needs to be Jesus Christ.
Isaiah 43:19 tells us that God is doing a new thing.
But a new thing doesn't always feel exciting when it first begins.
Sometimes it feels like disruption.
Sometimes it feels like uncertainty.
And sometimes it means leaving behind something that was very familiar.
So perhaps the question isn't:
"Lord, how do I get everything back to the way it used to be?"
Perhaps the question is:
"Jesus, what are You doing in this new season, and how do You want me to respond?"
4. REMAIN — Be Still and Know That I Am God

This is one of my favorite parts of the message.
Because sometimes we become so focused on getting our breakthrough that we forget the importance of simply remaining in God's presence.
We want an answer.
We want direction.
We want things to change.
And we want them to change right now.
But there are seasons when God tells us to move.
And there are seasons when He tells us to stay.
Sometimes He tells us to fight.
Sometimes He tells us to wait.
And sometimes He simply tells us:
"Be still, and know that I am God." — Psalm 46:10
During the event, I shared how the Lord had been ministering to me through some personal family circumstances.
And what I was sensing wasn't that I needed to shout louder, fight harder, or somehow make everything happen.
It was an invitation to remain.
To stay close to Him.
To continue praying.
And to trust Him with the things I couldn't control.
Jesus tells us in John 15:4 to abide in Him.
That word abide is important.
It means remaining connected.
Think about a branch attached to a vine.
The branch doesn't produce fruit because it's working harder than all the other branches.
It produces fruit because it remains connected to the source of life.
And that's a picture of our Christian walk.
Sometimes we're trying so hard to make something happen that we've forgotten to simply sit with Jesus.
So if you're in a waiting season right now, don't automatically assume that nothing is happening.
The Lord may be strengthening you.
He may be preparing you.
He may be teaching you something you need for the next chapter of your life.
Preparation is not wasted time.
And remaining in His presence is never wasted time.
5. RESTORATION — Can These Dry Bones Live Again?

One of the most remarkable pictures of restoration in Scripture comes from Ezekiel 37.
The prophet Ezekiel finds himself standing in a valley filled with dry bones.
Not freshly fallen bones.
Dry bones.
They had been there a long time.
Everything about that valley appeared lifeless.
And then God asks Ezekiel an extraordinary question.
"Son of man, can these bones live?"
Think about that for a moment.
God is asking His prophet to look at something that appears completely hopeless and consider whether the story might not be finished.
Maybe you've got something in your own life that feels that way.
A dream that never happened.
A relationship that changed.
A ministry opportunity that ended.
A promise you've been waiting on for years.
Or maybe you've been carrying emotional wounds for so long that you've started believing things will never get better.
And you've quietly concluded:
"Nothing can happen here anymore."
But I want to encourage you.
Don't pronounce dead what God has not pronounced dead.
Now, that doesn't mean every old relationship will be restored.
It doesn't mean every closed door is supposed to reopen.
And it doesn't mean God will bring every circumstance back to exactly what it was.
Sometimes restoration means healing something that was broken.
Sometimes it means bringing life to something that seemed finished.
And sometimes restoration means giving us the strength to release the old so we can move into something new.
That's why we need discernment.
We don't want to spend the next five years trying to resurrect something the Lord is asking us to release.
But we also don't want to abandon something He has asked us to continue praying about.
So ask Him.
"Jesus, what do You want to restore in my life?"
And then give Him room to answer.
6. BEGIN AGAIN — Your Story Isn't Finished

I think this final part of the prophetic forecast may be especially important for some of you.
Don't be afraid to begin again.
Sometimes we think starting over means we've failed.
Maybe your business didn't work out.
Maybe your marriage has been through a difficult season.
Perhaps you've had to change jobs, move to another state, or reconsider plans you've been making for years.
And now you're looking at your life thinking:
"This isn't where I expected to be."
I understand that feeling.
As I shared earlier, Sarah and I have been experiencing a new beginning ourselves.
And it's easy to look back at the previous chapter and wonder whether something went wrong.
But beginning again doesn't necessarily mean you've failed.
Look throughout Scripture.
Peter had to begin again after denying Jesus.
Jonah received another opportunity after running from his assignment.
John Mark continued in ministry after an earlier disagreement and setback.
And throughout the history of Israel, we see God calling His people to return and begin again.
Our God is a God of mercy.
A God of restoration.
And a God who continues working in people's lives.
So maybe you've reached the end of a particular chapter.
That doesn't mean God has stopped writing your story.
Perhaps He's preparing you for something you couldn't have imagined a year ago.
And maybe the prayer for this season is simply:
"Jesus, I'm willing to begin again. Show me what You want me to do next."
Special Guest Taylor Crain: Understanding Dreams, Visions, and God's Leading

One of the things I was particularly excited about during our live event was having my friend Taylor Crain join us.
Taylor has been growing in her understanding of dreams, visions, and prophetic ministry, and I wanted her to have an opportunity to share some of what the Lord has been teaching her.
During her presentation, Taylor spoke about her own experiences and how those experiences encouraged her to pay closer attention to dreams and spiritual discernment.
She also shared practical ways she approaches dream interpretation.
And one thing I appreciated was her emphasis on context.
When someone has a dream, we shouldn't immediately jump to conclusions because we recognize a particular symbol.
We need to consider the person's circumstances.
What was happening in their life?
What emotions were present during the dream?
Was the dream encouraging, troubling, confusing, or something else?
What details stood out?
And most importantly, how do we prayerfully evaluate what we're hearing in light of Scripture?
Taylor discussed how she looks at the overall atmosphere of a dream, its main elements, and the possible significance of symbols.
She also explained how she prayerfully considers whether a dream may be encouraging someone, drawing attention to a concern, or inviting them to seek further understanding.
Now, I want to emphasize something.
Not every dream is a prophetic message.
Sometimes dreams reflect our daily experiences, worries, memories, and emotions.
That's why discernment matters.
We should never make major life decisions based solely upon someone's interpretation of a dream.
But for Christians who believe God can speak through dreams, Scripture gives us examples worth studying, including Joseph and Daniel.
And that brings us to one of the most interesting portions of the live event.
Live Dream Interpretation: What Happened With Our Volunteers?

After Taylor finished teaching, we invited volunteers to share some of the dreams they'd experienced.
And I think this part of the replay is particularly helpful because it allows you to see the process rather than simply hear someone talk about it.
One volunteer shared dreams involving travel, different locations, and questions about direction.
As Taylor listened, she discussed possible meanings of the dream's details and encouraged the volunteer to continue praying for clarity.
During the conversation, the volunteer also mentioned a real-life opportunity involving a teaching position and uncertainty about whether it was the right direction.
What I appreciated was that Taylor didn't pretend to have every answer.
She acknowledged where she wasn't receiving clear confirmation and encouraged the person to keep seeking the Lord.
That's important.
Sometimes we need to be willing to say:
"I don't know yet. Let's keep praying."
Another volunteer, Deborah, shared a troubling dream involving frightening figures and an inability to respond the way she wanted.
She remembered Isaiah 45:22, which directs people to look to the Lord for salvation.
Deborah also described another dream in which she felt herself being dragged toward a pit and cried out the name of Jesus.
Taylor prayerfully discussed possible spiritual interpretations of those experiences.
We then moved into a brief time of prayer, asking Jesus for His help, healing, and direction.
These were personal ministry moments, and I encourage you to watch them in their full context rather than treating any individual interpretation as a certainty.
For me, one of the most important lessons was the need to keep bringing people back to Jesus.
Not back to fear.
Not back to speculation.
And not back to dependence upon another person's spiritual insight.
Back to Jesus Christ.
A Live Demonstration of Inner Healing and Courts of Heaven Prayer

Another part of our event involved demonstrating how we can bring concerns directly before the Lord in prayer.
This is something I've been teaching through Healing the Brokenhearted and my Courts of Heaven training.
During the live ministry, I shared a simple prayer approach that people can also practice privately.
We bring the concern before Jesus.
We ask Him for His wisdom, truth, and healing.
We pray in His name and authority.
And then we take time to listen and seek His guidance.
I also explained how this connects with the prayer principles I've written about in The Daniel Prayer Playbook.
Daniel is a wonderful example of someone who continued seeking God through prayer, humility, confession, and perseverance.
And I believe there are valuable lessons in his example for our own prayer lives.
But here's something I want you to understand.
You don't have to be a pastor or a deliverance minister to pray and ask Jesus for help.
You can bring your concerns before Him.
You can ask Him for wisdom.
You can ask Him to help you work through fear, unforgiveness, rejection, grief, and other painful experiences.
And you can continue seeking appropriate pastoral, medical, or mental health support when those circumstances call for it.
The goal of our training isn't to make people dependent upon me.
It's to help Christians become more confident in their relationship with Jesus and better equipped to pray through the challenges they encounter.
What Does Hebrew Year 5787 Mean for Christians?

Because this event was connected to the Hebrew year 5787, I also want to address an important question.
Does entering a new year on the Hebrew calendar automatically mean that God is going to change everything in our lives?
No.
I don't believe we should treat a calendar date as a guarantee that certain events will happen to every Christian.
And I certainly don't believe we should build our entire understanding of God's will around numbers or dates.
Instead, I believe the beginning of a new season can give us an opportunity to stop, pray, examine our lives, and ask what the Lord may be highlighting.
That's the heart behind this prophetic forecast.
As I've been reading Scripture and praying, I keep returning to these themes:
Return.
Press through.
Get grounded.
Remain.
Restoration.
Begin again.
These aren't secret formulas.
They're biblical principles that can help us examine our relationship with Jesus and the decisions we're making.
And I believe they're especially meaningful as we consider the remainder of 2026.
How Can You Apply This Prophetic Word to Your Own Life?
I don't want you to read this article, watch the video, and simply move on to something else.
I'd encourage you to take a little time with the Lord and consider what we've been talking about.
If you're feeling distant from Jesus, ask Him how to return to a deeper relationship with Him.
If you're encountering resistance, ask whether He's calling you to continue, wait, or change direction.
If everything around you is shifting, examine where you've placed your security.
If you're in a season of waiting, learn how to remain in His presence without feeling that you always have to make something happen.
If you're longing for restoration, ask Jesus what He wants to heal, restore, or help you release.
And if a chapter of your life has ended, don't be afraid to ask Him what comes next.
You might even want to write these questions down and spend a few days praying through them.
Because sometimes we get so busy looking for a new prophetic word that we haven't taken the time to respond to what the Lord has already been teaching us.
Free Spiritual Warfare Training to Help You Walk Through Everyday Struggles
Before I close, I also want to remind you that we offer free Christian spiritual warfare training.
This training is designed to help believers develop practical prayer habits and learn how to turn to Jesus when difficult situations arise.
Maybe you're dealing with anxiety.
Maybe you've been struggling with discouragement.
Perhaps you've experienced a troubling dream, had difficulty sleeping, or found yourself overwhelmed by fear.
Or maybe you simply want to become more confident in praying through everyday challenges.
I believe it's important that Christians have practical tools they can use in their own walk with the Lord.
That's why I encourage people to take advantage of the free training available through our ministry.
You can learn at your own pace and begin putting the biblical prayer principles into practice.
And remember, spiritual support can be part of your life without replacing professional care when it's needed.
My Prayer for You as We Move Through the Remainder of 2026
Let me close by sharing something from my heart.
I don't know everything you've been going through.
I don't know what happened in your family this year.
I don't know what doors have closed or what disappointments you've experienced.
Maybe you've had a wonderful year.
Or maybe 2026 has been one of the most difficult years of your life.
But I do know this.
Our relationship with Jesus isn't supposed to depend upon everything in our lives going perfectly.
He's still worthy of our trust when we're waiting.
He's still worthy of our worship when we're hurting.
And He's still present when the next step isn't clear.
So don't confuse resistance with defeat.
Don't confuse discomfort with abandonment.
Don't confuse waiting with inactivity.
And don't confuse the end of one chapter with the end of God's plan for your life.
I want to encourage you to take some time with the Lord and pray.
"Jesus, I return to You.
Help me get my feet firmly planted upon the Rock.
Give me the courage to press through when You're calling me to continue.
Give me the wisdom to wait when You're asking me to remain.
Heal the places in my heart that need Your touch.
Help me release what I need to release.
And Lord, if You're doing something new in my life, give me the wisdom and courage to recognize it.
I'm listening.
I'm available.
And I'm willing to follow You into what comes next.
In Jesus' name, amen."
I pray this prophetic message encourages you and helps you draw closer to Jesus as we move through the remainder of 2026.
If you missed our live event, I hope you'll take some time to watch the replay and hear Taylor's teaching and the prayer ministry with our volunteers.
And please feel free to share this article with someone who might need a little encouragement today.
God bless you,
