Release Breakthrough Praise: The Overcomer's Guide

Saints, what a joy to convene again as we unmask King David's battle-tested secrets for spiritual victory. Through our ongoing study, we've seen how David fiercely resisted demonic attacks through God's Word, prayer, spiritual authority and patient trust in the Deliverer.
Last week, we dug into 7 practical ways David actively resisted the devil's harassment, equipping us to forcefully repel spiritual oppression. But today, I want to highlight another supremely powerful yet often overlooked weapon in our arsenal - extravagant praise unto Almighty God.
Scripture reveals how David strategically wielded praise to utterly route and vanquish spiritual foes. Psalm 149:6-9 declares, "Let the high praises of God be in their throats and two-edged swords in their hands to execute vengeance on the nations and punishment on the peoples, to bind their kings with chains and their nobles with fetters of iron, to carry out the sentence written against them - this is the glory of all his faithful ones. Praise the Lord!"
Beloved, your praise is a sharp double-edged sword summoning heavenly armies to war against evil powers! As we exalt the matchless name of Jesus, the Lord arises as a mighty man of battle to scatter opposing forces.
Let's examine 7 specific ways David released breakthrough praise against demonic strongholds that we can implement:
Step 1: Magnify God's Names and Attributes
First, David powerfully exalted the Lord's glorious names and nature that directly counteract the enemy's evil character.
He proclaimed in Psalm 148:13 - "Let them praise the name of the Lord, for His name alone is exalted." The Almighty's names reveal His unmatched supremacy and authority to crush satanic powers. Declare His names like Yahweh Jireh, El Shaddai, Prince of Peace, Lion of Judah!
Furthermore, David praised the perfection of God's attributes like holiness, sovereignty, wisdom, kindness, and almighty power that oppose the devil's wickedness. In Psalm 99:3 he declares of God's holiness - "Let them praise Your great and awesome name; Holy is He."
As our worship magnifies the excellency of God's virtues, it dethrones the enemy's lies and domination. Exalting His supreme majesty dispels darkness.
Step 2: Celebrate God's Past Victories and Mighty Deeds
Secondly, David continually praised God for demonstrations of His matchless might in past spiritual victories, sparking faith for present breakthroughs.
In Psalm 77:11-15 he remembers the Lord gloriously leading Israel from Egypt by parting the Red Sea with power and strength. His praise declares in verse 14 - "You are the God who performs miracles; you display your power among the peoples."
Rehearsing previous triumphs when God unfailingly delivered His people ignites fresh hope and expectancy that He will again demonstrate His might. Our memory is fuel for our faith.
As you reflect on times God supernaturally intervened on your behalf, praising Him for past displays of His delivering power, courage rises to tear down current strongholds.
Step 3: Declare God's Absolute Sovereignty Over Enemies
Additionally, David forcefully praised the Almighty's complete sovereignty and supremacy over all demonic enemies under His feet.
Psalm 47:2-3 proclaims - "How awesome is the Lord Most High, the great King over all the earth! He subdued nations under us, peoples under our feet."
Psalm 18:31 declares of God - "For who is God besides the Lord? And who is the Rock except our God? It is God who arms me with strength and keeps my way secure."
Through praise, loudly declare the Lord's undisputed authority over satanic powers and principalities. Exalt Him as King of kings and Lord of lords, subduing your adversaries under Christ's feet!
Step 4: Praise God From Heaven's Perspective
Furthermore, David worshipped from heaven's vantage point, aligning his praise with angel armies surrounding God's throne as seen in Revelations 4-5.
Psalm 103:20-22 calls us to "Praise the Lord, you his angels, you mighty ones who do his bidding, who obey his word. Praise the Lord, all his heavenly hosts, you his servants who do his will."
David merged his earthly praise with the nonstop heavenly chorus exalting God's holiness and worthiness. As we join the cosmic worship anthem, the Lord's manifested glory overshadows and displaces earthly dominions.
Lift your voice in concert with angelic choirs, echoing their words in Revelation 4:8 - "Holy, holy, holy is the Lord God Almighty, who was and is and is to come!" Watch realms shake under the resounding heavenly chorus!
Step 5: Offer Lavish Praise with Holy Abandonment
Additionally, David modeled full-hearted, extravagant abandonment to God in praise, casting aside dignity or personal agendas to passionately worship the King.
In 2 Samuel 6:14, "David, wearing a linen ephod, danced before the Lord with all his might" giving no concern to appearances as he honored God with complete devotion.
1 Chronicles 13:8 describes the euphoric praise as instruments sounding forth mightily along with songs of joy and loud cymbals. They held nothing back in exalting the greatness of God.
When we lay down pride and inhibitions to praise with reckless abandon, the Lord's manifest presence powerfully floods the atmosphere, displacing demonic environments. Give Him your highest praise!
Step 6: Release Spirit-Inspired Music
David further unlocked breakthrough power by composing and playing Spirit-breathed music to glorify God's splendor.
In 1 Samuel 16:23, when an evil spirit troubled Saul, David's anointed music ministry drove the darkness away as he played skillfully from a heart of worship. The psalmist's Spirit-inspired songs summoned heaven's delivering intervention.
Through songs the Spirit gives you, sing prophetic declarations of freedom over situations. Proclaim His victory through word and song. Let anointed praise shake prison walls and release captives!
Step 7: Persevere in Praise Despite Attacks
Finally, David persevered in praise even in the midst of raging afflictions, until deliverance came.
Psalm 42:5 shows David combating despair by preaching to his own soul - "Why are you downcast, O my soul? Why so disturbed within me? Put your hope in God, for I will yet praise Him, my Savior and my God."
Though the enemy attempted to silence him, David pressed through the heaviness to magnify God's name through declaration and song. Rather than being silenced by attacks, we must praise louder until the Almighty responds! Persevering praise outlasts the enemy.
In Summary:
By applying these 7 steps, we unlock breakthrough authority to demolish demonic strongholds through praise as David modeled.
When you face any spiritual assault, immediately flood your home and heart with vibrant worship music. Dance before the Lord in celebration of the triumphant Lamb! Lift your voice to testify of His unfailing love and mighty deliverances.
Decree that no weapon formed against you shall prosper. Boldly remind the devil of his defeat. Align your praise with angel armies exalting the King of Glory. Offer extravagant worship in abandoned devotion - give Him your highest and best praise.
Even if you feel discouraged or oppressed, choose by faith to magnify His matchless name. As you exalt the Majestic One, He arises from His holy habitation to war against your adversaries.
The Lord manifests His presence powerfully through praise to scatter opposing powers. Breakthrough belongs to tenacious worshipers!
I want to highlight 3 additional fruits that result as we embrace David's model of breakthrough praise ministry against forces of darkness:
Fruit 1: God's overwhelming manifest presence that instantly casts out all fear and oppression.
Fruit 2: Fresh revelation that exposes and dethrones the enemy's schemes.
Fruit 3: Renewed strength, passion and courage to fulfill your destiny despite opposition.
Beloved, I pray David's example sparks fresh passion in you to make praise core to your spiritual warfare. Lift your voice without ceasing until every enemy is under the feet of the enthroned Lamb! No trial or intimidation can withstand the commanding force of anointed praise that exalts the excellent name of Jesus. Let your praise blast open prison doors for captives. Expect heaven's intervention as you magnify the Almighty. You will declare alongside David:
"In the day when I cried out, You answered me, and made me bold with strength in my soul!" (Psalm 138:3)
All breakthrough belongs to our matchless God! To Him alone be all praise and glory forever!

Volunteer Karri :
Karri bravely volunteered to share her story during the deliverance service, seeking freedom from years of satanic ritual abuse she tragically endured as a young child. With tears in her voice, she described haunting memories of being only 4 years old and forcibly laid on an altar while adults callously abused her innocence, violating her body by inserting objects like corn, carrots, and a hairbrush handle. Karri dissociated from the trauma, floating above her body wondering why anyone would commit such evil against a helpless child. The blood rituals performed on her opened demonic doorways, and today Karri feels dark "puppet strings" attached to her fingers, toes, and body creating relentless urges to harm herself and others. Despite living under this intense spiritual oppression, Karri perseveres through her love of music and praise, using her musical gifts as a weapon to glorify God and fight the enemy’s attacks.
Filled with compassion, Pastor Tomlinson gently guided Karri through the process of Christian inner healing, calling on the authority of Jesus' name from Mark 16:17 to divide and free her soul from the tormenting demonic spirits. He had her visualize Jesus taking her back to early memories needing restoration, such as the first time she was ritually abused around age 4. Karri forgave her abusers by faith as Jesus commands us in Matthew 6:14-15, and asked the Lord to bring confirmation of His healing touch so she can move forward in freedom. In her mind, she saw Jesus removing her from the traumatic situation and easing her childlike pain and confusion. Though more inner healing sessions are needed, Karri felt a tangible sense of hope knowing Jesus is actively involved in healing her brokenhearted wounds in His perfect timing.
Volunteer Lesley:
Another volunteer named Lesley also reached out for help, sharing that she frequently wakes up to overwhelming spiritual attacks of paralyzing fear which prevent her from being able to sleep. Horrifically, she is even sexually abused in her dreams by violating demonic spirits. Pastor Tomlinson strongly encouraged Lesley to start immediately praying against any attacks using the Biblical spiritual warfare principles from the free website training. Together they called upon the power of Jesus' name and authority from Luke 10:19 to firmly command her soul to divide from the tormenting spirits. Lesley asked Jesus to heal the legal rights allowing these entities access to her in dreams. She soon felt the weight of the demonic oppression detach from her spirit, sensing Jesus breaking its hold. With sincere gratitude, Lesley gave all glory to God for actively setting her free from these dark strongholds, knowing she can now come boldly before Jesus in prayer whenever spiritually assailed and trust Him to bring light, peace, and full restoration.
