The LORD is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit.

Psalm 34:18 (NLT)

Woman with Tablet

The after-effects of experiencing, witnessing, or even learning about a traumatic event could be exceptionally hard to navigate.  Certain events could be overwhelmingly exhausting on our mental health and frequently the stress factors don't go away for months or even years to come.  People are unique, therefore it is reasonable the way each of us handles trauma is unique.

Trauma can be from any age and is usually associated with accidents, physical, verbal and/or sexual abuse, physical pain or any emotional pain that we can’t handle or cope with at that moment. There are many names associated with this type of trauma:  Bipolar, Manic-Depressive, DID (Dissociation Identity Disorder), Alternate Personalities, MPD (Multiple Personality Disorder) or PTSD (Post Traumatic Stress Disorder).

Inner healing is part of Christ's redemptive work on Calvary (Ephesians 1:7) and it has been given to us (Romans 3:22) freely. Through prayer and knowledge of the Word of God our savior Jesus mediates (1 Timothy 2:5) and intercedes  on our behalf to the Heavenly Father (Romans 3:24) to heal the deepest wounds to our souls.

Depression, Grief or Stress can be an extremely subtle and slow ailments that develops over time. Occasionally we don't have any idea why we're sleeping less or more, eating less or more, spending time with family and friends, crying more often or falling behind on essential jobs and obligations.  These elevated emotions do not have time constraints on them and may be triggered easily everywhere by many distinct experiences and individuals not meaning to activate or hurt you.  You aren't alone and healing is within reach!

Inner healing is the application of the grace and peace of Jesus Christ to the pain and confusion of the damaged emotional life. The practice of inner healing involves encountering the truth of God and the presence of God in a secure atmosphere of God's love, peace, and healing power through Jesus Christ.

Identifying the problem and realizing the need for inner healing is the first step!

God has amazing plans for you (Jeremiah 29:11) and the pain you feel now is not what God has in store for you.

Jeremiah 29:11 (NLT)
For I know the plans I have for you,” says the Lord. “They are plans for good and not for disaster, to give you a future and a hope.

The healing process is safe, gentle and confidential.

Psalms 140:12 (NKJV)

I know that the Lord will maintain The cause of the afflicted, And justice for the poor.

Statistics report that 1 in five women, and 1 in 20 boys have experienced sexual abuse. It may be a tremendously tough topic to consider, much less talk about it. A individual's instinctive response would be to bury the action as far down as you can. A lot of individuals don't remember the occasion until later in life, and a few learn to dissociate in a variety of manners when reminders of their misuse are experienced. Unfortunately, it's impossible to completely rid ourselves of the problems without working through them in a secure and loving environment.

The pain from sexual abuse can be so excruciating that the human brain and body do everything possible to prevent it, but if our clients find themselves at a safe place, in which they are all set to uproot the problems that have caused them grief, anger, and pain and bravely address all kinds of social and relational problems that have resulted from being a victim of sexual abuse, amazing transformations occur and clients are freed of the chains which have bound them tightly for years.

Psalm 107:14

He brought them out of darkness and the shadow of death and broke away their chains.

It's not your fault at all.  No child, teenager or adult should be broken sexually for any reason at all.  There's tremendous hope. We can find comfort in the Lord knowing that we can be healed permanently from our past (Psalm 34:18). We can be freed at the root of that pain and through Jesus can heal the emotion associated with our pain. This is done only through Inner Healing.
